Yeah, you are missing it. Remote work will democratize work. If you have capability but no money, you can work from any of the cheapest places in America (or abroad) you choose, yet you can still compete for the highest paid jobs in the nation at the same time.

BUT leveling the playing field will have great impact on America since it will now have to compete with countries with far lower standards of living. (which will be greatly beneficial for them)

In this new world there will be an increased pressure to be excellent... and that pressure will fall on everyone.
