We agree, the mass market will be different. And I think the phone is a great analogy. My experience is that in cases where my phone will comfortably last all day, then I never build a habit of topping off. Just a religious habit of charging at night. When I have had phones that might crap out under heavy usage, yes I top off. The same with cars. I think many will pay an extra $5–10K if that gives them a car that can comfortably the them thru a Saturday of errands (<100mi right?). So it will only be those that purchase limited range cars that will top off. Given the continued dropping in battery prices, I think the “toppers” will drop in numbers too. Is my logic sound?
