I think logseq is going to work for me. I spent the evening writing a bi-directional mapping mapping script from vanilla markdown into logseq-ified markdown. (somehow the logseq guys kinda broke text folding for “###” tags ?!?!) but it has alot of features I can work with. RemNote also looked good, but I am so happy to have local markdown files if I can make that work.
Thanks for the advice! (and it does look like Roam is really slowing down). It is too bad for them, since I feel the actually energized the whole field, but cannot compete with their price point.
