this is an awesome article. thanks for posting it. it seems quite thoughtful to me that you considered what modesty could look like in the American context.

Indeed it got me thinking. Reading your article, I wonder if you would want to use your language of dress to indicate ``I am a muslim, and I am an American, and those are not in conflict.'' I think this is a message the most muslims already believe, but many non-muslims don't. I travel in some pretty conservative circles, and I think the largest resistance comes from a believe that ``they are against us'' not that ``they are different than us''

Anyway, it is not my place to suggest your clothing as a billboard... and I don't know specifically what I would even suggest. Still it seems an important concept for our world, so I thought I would mention it.
