I was hoping for an apples to apples comparison which tried to align the countries in order understand the comparative effect of social democracy on the economy.

e.g. what is the best counter factual comparison case to understand how these countries (w/o oil) would fair if they were less socialist. because of the headstart/catchup effects we cannot look simply at any single period of time. can we shift them? or do something to compare?
