The shift away from low skill jobs is going to be relentless in the coming decades. We are going to need to invent a new financial system or have a very unhappy populace. I think universal income is too simple minded and does not take into account human need for purpose.

One industry at a time AI/automation will eat whole industries. but its going to be happening in parallel, so many can fall in shorter time frames. (2030 is quite close, maybe not quite that quick for many)
