Scott, agree that NFTs can have value based on scarcity and authenticity as creations entirely within a digital world.

It has not happened yet, but I think they will also become the de-facto way to provide for authenticity by being a proxy for non-NFT items that are intrinsically scarce. For example, tracking the lineage of a purebred dog would be better on the blockchain. once could investigate the history of claims of breeders many generations back. can all be trusted? have any been found to be less that scrupulous since the parentage was recorded? This is mostly lost with traditional records but is automatically retained with an NFT that serves as the documentation for a particular dog.

We need some success cases to show the world the value of these digital proxies... but once this is established, there will be pressure to adopt them, just as there is pressure to get a GIA rating on your diamond. Just having it, makes it more valuable.
