Much of the country feels the US should be more aggressively handling illegal immigration. And very clearly the Dems don't have this as an agenda item.

and the voters said, "Now THERE is our man!"

it really is about words and attitude over actions.

For example, Trump instituted "stay in Mexico" .... leaving just that one policy in place (and spending more money so the accommodations in Mexico were acceptable) would have denied DeSantis his publicity stunts of busing immigrants to liberal states.
