I am from the midwest, but now live in SF, and I find the levels of indignation here to be bothersome. Its not that they are inappropriate. Being catcalled or interrupted is going to vex anyone as it should. Still I feel SF *lives* for an opportunity to be vexed, it is almost an identity.
I find it counter productive, and also (as you point out) sometimes overly narrow as there can be more than one side to most stories.
So I resonated with your piece and your thinking.
It made me wonder... did this change of perspective on that day have any staying power, or did the default perspective of the city around you return as it was before.
(there is no judgement in whatever your answer is) I just wondered.
