Most Americans have no concept of how wealthy and privileged they are. This is especially true of American women and minorities, who are constantly force-fed the lie that they are somehow oppressed.

seriously... it is possible to be both oppressed AND privileged at the same time. and I think this is exactly the situation here. the oppression is real, and the privileged is real. and one does not really cancel out the other.... the real world is messy.
