Much of what you write makes sense. But if Trump colluded to get alternate electors to DC, and to have Pence (or a replacement for Pence) not certify states with multiple sets of electors there-by stay in power as president, then he IS guilty of attempting to instigate a coup.

He DID VERY VERY strongly push Pence to not certify electors. This is already at odds with the intent of the constitution. The secret service did try to force Pence away from congress. We need to learn where these orders were coming from, and what pressures were put forward in service of alternate electors and by whom.

This is all very fishy stuff, and it is far more damning than a bunch of protestors at a riot, or not accepting the election results.
