Meh, sure woman can mansplain. But so many guys (really including myself) have their identity tied up with knowing things. It is very easy to get carried away with that. Sure women do it too, but I think the connection to gender is pretty accurate. it IS a guy thing to do, more often than not.

Your case of exotic pets is interesting, because I expect more women would worry about the plight of a trapped animals. yeah as a guy I think we need to "own" this dubious distinction... and try to minimize it! :-)
