Many Christians believe in principle that what happens next matters and dying (in principle) is not so relevant. But in practice most both islam and christian have a healthy attachment to living.

But what I think you are not wrapping your head around is that many in Gaza feel their children are born and die in a miserable prison controlled by Israel and there is nothing they can do about it.

This more than any theoretical beliefs about the afterlife is what separates them from Christian Americans. They are under horrible oppression w/ no way out.

NOTICE: I think their actions are self harming and stupid.

But I don't think they stem primarily from zealous religious beliefs or lack of concern for their life. Its a trapped animal with no way out --- humans loose their rationality in the extreme, it as simple as that (I think)
