The promise of the paperless office was made and remade over and over and it failed…. until it didn’t. IT DID HAPPEN.

I would agree that in its deepest bowls no code solutions will require progress escaping towards generalized programming. Still if 90+ can be done w/o programming AND nicely play with the few percent that did require programming, then I would say it succeeded.

Are we there yet. No. Is the fact that we have tried and failed proof. I say no. Especially since things like tableau are already supplanting programmers with qualified non-programmer power users. We ARE moving down that slope.
