I am generally not a Reganite, or at least not a strong one.
Still it does seem to me his union breaking and tax cutting did put the USA onto a higher GDP growth trend same for the UK. I notice how much higher both were in the subsequent 20 years as compared to the rest of Europe.
I don't mean to paint a simple picture, since I do think there are moments when strategic investment can make strong differences, but it seems the US was more favorable to business and we saw the results.
today i think China is more favorable to business and we see the result.
of course in my estimation part of China's increase in due both to historically low costs/taxes, AND increases in strategic investments in key industries.
