I am a fan of electrification, still your claim of solar being low waste is a bit of an accounting trick.
All of the waste in solar happen in the cell (that are usually on 20-30% efficient) so their rejected energy is even worse by that measure.
yes once it is electricity then there is little further waste.
But the same is true of natural gas, once it is turned to electricity there is little further waste.
So its really just an accounting trick to view these as different. Both waste 70-80% of available energy getting to electricity.
that said, solar is renewable and non-emitting, and getting cheaper every year.
so I am still a fan!
