I agree with what you say, but it does not refute his claim.

As you point out: EVERYONE packages their B2B as God's mission. Still only a few are honestly *really* dedicated to it. So as an investor, you need to differentiate these two cases.

But the employees of the eventual startup will have no difficulty separating the true intention of the founder.

I am NOT convinced this is the only difference between success and failure. But it is very real, and often tricky to figure out.

(I have been intimately involved in both forms.)
