He would not have gone to prison, or even been indited. The supreme court (hopefully) would reject the idea that the constitution supported is ability to do this, and (eventually) Biden would be president.

BUT it would have yielded a constitutional fight. and taken time. and drama. That is what Trump wanted, and Pence denied this to him. and his career is TANKED because of it.
