As I read her article is it quite a bit broader than just CRT, though in the body I agree she used CRT as her example. My example is from the broader set. An example from the narrower CRT universe is messier, since most of the actions in the classroom that cause people to shift right are not directly from CRT, though they ARE actions that stem from left-leaning perspectives. (The right likes the CRT label since it gives them a well defined target — even if they apply it inappropriately.)

Still your characterization of the right’s stance on Cops really belies your own biases, and shows that you would indeed also alienate many on the right.

You write: As for people who “value the cops,” call them what they are, which is fascist authoritarian sympathizers.

I know a large number of folks (including myself) who see cops as a force that does not have sufficient truly independent oversight and thus have corrupt elements within them. And this overall structure is in need of reforming in order to fix this unacceptable situation. At the same time, these same people see great value in the police force as well, and believe there are a great numbers of “good cops” within their ranks. Thus I would definitely say that ‘I value our cops.’

You can say that makes me (and all of them) facist sympathizers. I don’t think it does. But that kind of thinking makes it increasingly hard to remain a liberal in America. I still am one… at least by voting record if nothing else. But I increasingly have to hold my nose, and turn my brain off in order to remain in these ranks. (of course I would have to hold my whole face if I were to switch allegiances right now. but really is that what the left aspires to? Hey at least we are better than Trump!). Wow.

My my perspective both the left AND the right have lost all perspective, and say stuff just as you did above.
